Model Home Unveil Debut Album '...And Nobody Made A Sound'
Ōtautahi's Model Home today share their debut album …And Nobody Made A Sound via Aotearoa independent champs Papaiti Records and Australia’s False Peak Records. Recorded with Stephen Marr at Roundhead Studios, the ten song long player is a streamlined collection of emo-rock ballads and shakers, proving the group has perfectly unified its sound over years. Singer / guitarist Rachael Norcross’ leading chops suck you in with opener ‘Home Again V’ (a Papaiti song title tradition) and uplift the record till the final second. Sean James’ percussion shines particularly on ‘1984 Ford Laser / Amateur Dryer Repair’, while Will Roud’s lulling voice brings the heat back down in ‘As / Per’, before the electric six-string ripples through the earnest tide created by his vocals — while the recent addition of bassist Tom Roud gratifies the band’s ambition to spruce up their rhythmic section.
Model Home's nationwide release tour begins in their home garden city this Saturday before venturing northwards, wrapping up in Pōneke in late September. They'll be joined by buds around the motu including Best Bets, This Dog, Babe Martin, Sports Dreams, Carb On Carb and Debt Club, ensuring evenings of emotive tunes that burn as much as heal. Times are tough, but at least you can still check out a (Model) Home viewing at the dates following…
