Listen To SKILAA's Single 'Money' ft. Guilty Simpson
Tāmaki Makaurau’s superteam SKILAA have churned out fizzing new tune ‘Money’, a collaboration with Detroit emcee Guilty Simpson of Leonard Simpson Duo fame. The hexing hexagon of Chelsea Prastiti (lead vox), Michael Howell (guitar), Adam Tobeck (Drums), Tom Dennison (bass), Crystal Choi and Lea Anae (both backing vocals) dish out their thoughts on the exploitation of artists via skimpy royalties, without forgetting to shout out to the community music networks like 95bFM who are “doing it right”. Guilty Simpson spits hard truths and the smoothest of rhymes, as the six-piece churn out a hip hop / RnB thriller full of featherlight guitar, syncopated bass, enchanting harmonies and some wealthy percussion.
Look out for the wet paw prints of SKILAA’s upcoming debut album Tiger In the River early next year, and help them get a November tour piping hot by supporting their hometown Wine Cellar show with rowdy duo TOOMS in a few weeks. Hit play on the visualiser clip for 'Money' and show your support this spring…
