Violet Hirst Announces 'Donegal' Album Release Tour
Tāmaki Makaurau via Tāhuna songwriter Violet Hirst will soon be unveiling her debut studio album Donegal, "a collection of songs that sit as a love-letter to Hirst's time spent between Pōneke and Te Waipounamu". Honing her craft with recent high profile support slots for Office Dog and D.C. Maxwell, Hirst has announced a five date Donegal launch tour, traversing Aotearoa to the four main centres plus Queenstown / Tāhuna — playing her new record in its entirety with with top tier bandmates Reuben Scott (Daffodils), Kane Strang (Office Dog), Mitchell Innes (Office Dog) and Madeleine Mirunok. Bundling together recent tunes 'Alternate Ways to Pray', 'Descending Song' and 'Brave Me' with seven newies (some of which can be heard in live form on 2021's Songs from the Futuna Chapel), Donegal was recorded and produced by De Stevens in Cromwell early last year, finally out in full just ahead of the tour on 7th August...
