Going Global Music Summit 2023 - First Speakers Announced
Brought to you by Independent Music New Zealand (IMNZ) and the NZ Music Commission, Aotearoa's premier music industry get-together Going Global Music Summit is returning to Tāmaki Makaurau's Roundhead Studios in early September, happening this year in conjunction with two Going Global Artist Showcase Events. The cat is out of the bag about the first four international speakers sharing their own experiences and expert-level insights at the two day conference — including Adam Ryan Music Programmer for the UK's Great Escape festival, Dev Sherlock Senior Music Programmer from SXSW (in Austin, Texas), Jackie Palazzolo Music Supervisor from Riot Games (League of Legends, Valorant), and Hallie Anderson from US artist services hub Rareform PR. That's just the tip of the iceberg, as many more speakers will be revealed over the coming weeks.
Newly expanded to a two night extravaganza of rising local talent, the Going Global Artist Showcase will return to St Kevin's Arcade's Whammy Bar, The Wine Cellar, Backroom — all "Aotearoa artists who are ready to take on or grow their international careers are encouraged to apply" before the submission deadline of 5.30pm sharp on 18th July. That's today folks, so best get your wiggle on. There'll be double night passes available and last year's Showcase event was indeed chock-a-block with exceptional emerging artists. Here's the official details revealed so far for Going Global Music Summit 2023...

“Our aim with Going Global is to propel our local artists further along their illustrious careers and guide them towards international markets. Past Going Global conferences have led to our artists signing with international record labels, music licensing deals, being booked for both US and European Festivals, and showcases at SXSW (US) and The Great Escape (UK). Looking outward, Going Global has also been directly responsible for connecting music production co-writes and collaborations between delegates from Singapore and Chile.
If you feel these outcomes match your goals, then this is the conference for you! We have Festival bookers, Programme Directors, Record Labels and many other Industry professionals attending. We would love our independent New Zealand artists to come and connect with them!” — Pippa Ryan-Kidd, Independent Music New Zealand (IMNZ) Chairperson
