Listen To Joe Kaptein's 'Spaced Further Out' EP
Playing keys with trans-Tasman interstellar jazz travellers The Lahaar for their debut show in Tāmaki Makaurau next month, multi-instrumentalist Joe Kaptein (Princess Chelsea) maintains a James Webb-like cosmic vision for his new Spaced Further Out EP. Graced with suitably lysergic cover artwork by Seb Hart, Kaptein is joined on selected tracks by Hank Trenton, Jason Herbert, Nat Hathaway and George Brajkovich — starting with the sparkling panoramic vistas of 'Son Of Kumara Patch II', stopping off for snazzy exotica cocktail 'Glow On', exploring outer spheres on the epic-length, increasingly zoned title track, then concluding with tranquil and alluring 'Afterthought'. Kaptein is teaming up with Aotearoa luminary Nathan Haines and Elijah Whyte for new experimental electronic jazz trio Soft Chaos, playing at Ponsonby Social Club on 11th August — soak your ears in Spaced Further Out and don't miss Kaptein with The Lahaar (also featuring Julien Dyne, Mara TK, JY Lee, Finn Scholes, Matt Hunter and more) and Soft Chaos at the following dates...
