TE KAAHU and Delaney Davidson Share Single 'I Ngooku Moemoeaa'
Winner of the 2023 Best Independent Debut Award for Te Kaahu O Rangi, TE KAAHU aka Theia (Waikato-Tainui, Ngaati Tiipaa) has revealed beautiful new waiata ‘I Ngooku Moemoeaa’, a collaboration with Lyttelton icon Delaney Davidson. Translating to English as 'In my dreams', the tender te reo ballad launches ahead of next week's Matariki holiday celebrations — a poroporoaki (farewell) allowing listeners space to grieve past loved ones, holding them close to our hearts as their spirits venture beyond mere earthly trappings. Recorded during Davidson’s residency at Massey University last year in Pōneke, feel the deep emotions of ‘I Ngooku Moemoeaa’ and go catch Davidson playing intimate headline events at the capital's Suite Gallery, over two evenings this August..
