Listen To Sin City's 'Something's Cookin' EP
I'd better get myself a Stetson hat pronto as it's officially cowpoke day in the UTR office. Tāmaki Makaurau country-soul mavericks Sin City aka Nick Armstrong and Jack Beesley are back with four rousing new anthems to call their own on Something's Cookin', lushly produced by co-winner of the 2023 APRA Best Country Music Song Award Delaney Davidson. As with Sin City's 2022 debut album, the aforementioned Lyttelton icon also lends his instrumental skills to the record, alongside an esteemed cast of contributors including John Segovia, John Egenes, Alistair Deverick, Dave Khan and Takumi Yanai. Sipping on 'Belgian Beer' in a dusty old tavern as they reflect on how 'Love Comes in Waves', it can be a hard road to travel when you're living on 'The Fringes Of Life', yet there's no doubt 'Something's Cookin' to help Sin City get by with their heads held high. They'll be moving the crowd alongside Spain's flamenco-garage-punk "one man party machine" Nestter Donuts and local heroes Bloodbags at Whammy Bar on 15th July, prep your ears by hitting play below...
