Clementine Valentine (fka Purple Pilgrims) Share Single / Video 'Endless Night'
Embodying a new leaf for the artists formerly known as Purple Pilgrims, 'Endless Night' is the debut single to be released by Coromandel Peninsula-based sibling dream duo Valentine and Clementine Nixon under their own names Clementine Valentine. Created with world class collaborators, 'Endless Night' was produced by NYC's Randall Dunn (Oneohtrix Point Never, Danny Elfman, Jim Jarmusch) and recorded with Matt Chamberlain (David Bowie, Lana Del Rey, Fiona Apple), out today with a visualiser clip adding gentle touches of movement to Aotearoa artist Liz Maw's supernaturally detailed oil painting portrait of the pair — animated by Silas McClintock of FUTURA Studio and made with support from NZ On Air.
Out today via Flying Nun Records, the stunner of a tune transports listeners to another place with cascading waves of guitar, epically reverbed oceanic textures and uplifting celestial vocal interplay. Clementine Valentine will sharing the stage with Weyes Blood as special guests for the California sonic visionary's North Island events early next week — experience a first taste of more to come with 'Endless Night'...
“All songs are moments in time trapped in amber, this one feels particularly so. A relic of a past joy, crystallised behind dusty glass. Part self-fulfilling prophecy, part heartfelt sarcasm." — Clementine Valentine
'Endless Night' is out today on major streaming services via Flying Nun Records.
