Raw Collective Return With Single 'Simple Times'
Following two years between drops, Te Whanganui-a-Tara’s Raw Collective bound back into action with ‘Simple Times’. Foreshadowing the release of the hip hop crew's fourth album (due out later this year), the new single is a dedication to their own endurance and longevity as a group, paying homage to both the rough and smoother times that have gone into keeping Raw Collective alive as they head into their eighth year. Staying true to their heady, party-starting sound, 'Simple Times' features warm vocals by fresh recruit Eliza Pickard, keys by Ayrton Foot and a horn section led by Ben Hunt, (LAB, Shapeshifter, The Black Seeds) — evoking a classic '90s hip hop sound with a jazz-infused twist. Celebrating their first official release since 2021's long player The Good Things, Raw Collective are playing two release parties in and near the capital with special guests this weekend. Smash play on 'Simple Times' and get tickets quick...
