Today's officially 420 Day (April 20th) and the champs at Bankrupt Records have shared a must-listen musical gift from legendary Tāmaki Makaurau electronic mastermind Totems aka Reuben Samuel Winter (Waitaha / Kāi Tahu / Te Aupōuri / Te Rarawa / Ngāti Kuri), who passed away in 2020 much too young at the age of 26. The first of two tracks launching in a 10" vinyl dubplate edition (check availability HERE), 'devilman69' is an atmospherically hazy and slamming club mover with hoover sounds in full effect, possibly named in tribute to Go Nagai's classic transgressive manga work — check the "hate my parents" sample, guaranteed to piss off a loved one near you. A release of true beauty, you can enjoy 'devilman69' right away, but you'll have to wait until 520 Day (May 20th) to experience the record's other half 'Life Dealer', tune in to 95bFM's Arcade Radio show tonight from 7pm onwards for a sneak peek...
