RIOT GULL Share Debut Album 'SCABBING'
Ōtepoti noise punk / no wave crew RIOT GULL have unveiled their debut album SCABBING. Consisting of members Deborah Olusina, Gemma Goldstein, Lucy Pollock (Porpoise, sir queen) and Madison Kelly (HŌHĀ), Riot Gull deliver playful, noise-driven tunes infused with experimental elements including an actual electric drill and searing, uncompromising lyrics (local songwriters are advised to take note of closing track: 'Don't Sing This'). The nine track long player includes lead single 'Routine For Champs', a joyously confrontational track that has made a lasting impression since its release in February of this year, along with an accompanying video you can watch below, co-directed by Liam Hoffman and Kelly. SCABBING is out today via Ōtepoti’s trace / untrace records and will see the group playing two album release shows in Kirikiriroa and Tamaki Makaurau, joined by special guests Lesbian Death Slutz From Hell, Memory Foam, Tooms and Half/Time. Listen to their chat with 95bFM's Rachel Ashby about SCABBING HERE and don't miss them this weekend — head along and grab some tapes and tees ...
