Lucky Boy^ Drops Single / Video 'Burned Out' With Phoebe Rings

We're all lucky boys today as Lucky Boy^ lifts the lid on darling new single and video 'Burned Out', his first release since 2021. The dreamy drop is a collaboration with Phoebe Rings, aka keys queen Crystal Choi, and marks the first in a series of collaborative tracks to culminate in an EP due later on in 2023.

Following a wildly prolific few years of songwriting, Lucky Boy^ (Simeon Kavanagh-Vincent) hit a "creative dry spell - brought on by taking myself a little too seriously", and figured it would be a helpful experiment to jam with his musical pals to break the block. Despite the fresh approach, Kavanagh-Vincent says "I would expect after a year and a half to feel different and be able to look back on the theme of the song with some amount of having moved on, but I am finding that a lot of the theme is still relevant to how I feel now", and the super sleepy video, made with support from NZ On Air, makes an apt and exhaustingly relatable pairing to a song about burn out and "having too much on your plate".
