Proteins Of Magic Announces New Zealand Tour
Between thawing out from a Nashville winter and boosting off to the UK and Europe, Proteins Of Magic aka Kelly Sherrod is making a trip back to Aotearoa for an eight date tour in celebration of upcoming single 'Divine Physics'. The past year has seen Sherrod opening for Dimmer on their I Believe You Are A Star tour, headlining their own nationwide run of shows, playing The Othersway festival, and most importantly creating a stunning trashy rendition of singles 'Lethal' and 'Cake'. Not one to rest on their laurels, Proteins Of Magic has stacked their nationwide tour with three festival sets and some killer support acts, kicking off the run with strings maestro and composer Motte in Ōtautahi, and will be joined by experimental artist Dream Chambers in Tāmaki Makaurau at LOT23. Find out where you can catch the multi instrumentalist and their epic electronic ballads in the coming months below...

Press release:
After wintering in the woods in Nashville and recording their next EP, Proteins of Magic is back in Aotearoa for summer to tour their upcoming single Divine Physics.
Performing at 3 festivals and 5 headline shows across the North and South Island, the tour begins in Christchurch at the Space Academy with violinist and composer Motte opening the show, and finishes at Lot23 in Auckland with hardware-based experimental artist Dream Chambers playing support.
2022 saw Proteins of Magic rise up and take centre stage, with them opening for the NZ Dimmer Theatre shows, playing their first 8 date headline tour, culminating with a show at The Othersway festival. Their single Lethal reverberated over the NZ airwaves, reaching number 1 in the Radioscope Alternative Charts, recording live sessions on RNZ and Radioactive, and featuring on the cover of New Zealand Herald’s Canvas Magazine.
“Sherrod doesn't just transform on stage, she almost seems possessed; this solitary, commanding presence at the keyboard, a bass guitar and flute within reach, a loop pedal at her feet creating hypnotic sounds that build to a pulsating crescendo.” Joanna Wane (Canvas Magazine)
After this summer tour Proteins of Magic will be off to play with William Crighton in the UK and Europe, so don't miss coming down to experience the musical alchemy.
