Pumice + Kraus Announce Dual Album Release Show
One of the great things about music is that after spending however long it takes to make a new body of work (eg. an album), you can invite everyone along to have a fine time and celebrate the project's completion. Visionary figures in Aotearoa's sonically adventurous underground, Pumice (aka Stefan Neville and Jade Farley) and Kraus both recently shared new albums with the world — the former's Phylis (launched in October via Soft Abuse, with a vinyl LP version out soon) and the latter's Fire! Water! Air! Kraus! (which garnered a very swish profile feature by Kiran Dass in UK mag The Wire) — and are celebrating this fact with a Saturday night double headline soirée at Tāmaki Makaurau's home of all things experimental and cool the Audio Foundation. You would well be a chump to miss — capacity is limited so we recommend grabbing tickets quick...

Press release:
Yes, this is a dual album release show! We celebrate the new Pumice album “Phylis”, and the Kraus album “Fire! Water! Air! Kraus!”, all in one night!
Kraus is a producer of psychedelic music based in Tāmaki Makaurau. His singular and eclectic work embraces a wide range of influences from early electronic music, Japanese folk, psychedelic rock, and medieval and Renaissance music. His recent work has been characterised by minimal and hypnotic synthesizer pieces, and in 2022 he was commissioned to create an hour of music for flotation tanks. Since 2002 he has produced 20 albums, with his latest, “Fire! Water! Air! Kraus!”, released in October 2022 on Soft Abuse Records.
Pumice has been making music since 1992 in varying incarnations. The current line up is Jade Farley, Stefan Neville & Rosy Parlane. They play cruddy skiffle & do mucky twanging. It lurches and pauses. That’s how it goes. See if you agree by listening to their new album Phylis.
