Ripship Unleash Debut Album 'Fearsome Engine'
Future-shocking your Friday like some kind of post-human festive treat, Fearsome Engine is the debut album from Tāmaki Makaurau sci-fi psych voyagers Ripship, the duo of Callum Lincoln and Eva-Rae McLean. Primarily recorded and deftly produced by Peter Ruddell (Sulfate, Wax Chattels), Ripship take up the role of sonic visionaries on their nine track long player — vividly detailing far-flung (or maybe nearer than we think?) scenarios set against an expansive cosmic churn of mega-heavy guitars, propulsive robo-rhythms, alternately vocodered and spoken word vox, holographic swirling synths, and mind-warped solos. Having just wrapped up their summer tour with Swallow the Rat, Ripship will be invading the stage at the 1:12 Xmas Party next Friday. Featuring student radio hits 'Moore's Law' and 'Ripship is Online', and concluding their journey with the squalling Lovecraftian horrors of 'B13', order yourself a beaut baby pink vinyl LP edition of Fearsome Engine HERE and enter the universe of Ripship below...
