Porpoise Unveil 'Do What You Want (A Mirror Ritual Reflection)'
Tour mates on the recent nationwide Eyegum Scenic Tour #2, Te Whanganui-a-Tara's Mirror Ritual have remixed a tune by Ōtepoti five member collective Porpoise, who announced in September they'll no longer be performing under that name (and hinted at an exciting new project on the horizon). Mirror Ritual's Lochie Noble reimagines the soaring 'Do What You Want' as a rippling electronic dreamscape, a club-friendly compliment to early December's final official Porpoise single, the elegantly arranged 'breakneck brain'. Adding to the banquet of interrelated releases is Mirror Ritual's recently unveiled live album The Scenic Route - Live at San Fran '22 — a six track "selection of songs captured at the first show of the Eyegum Scenic Tour #2 with Porpoise" infused with the same transcendent psych-magic as their new remix and available in a strictly limited ruby cassette edition. Tuck in below...
“It was such a treat to dive into their stems and unravel each individual’s contributions. Dissecting each part from the whole and threading it back together into something new... as we got to know everyone on a more personal level on the road, and having the privilege to witness Porpoise live each night, my appreciation grew deeper.” — Lochie Noble (Mirror Ritual)
'do what you want (a Mirror Ritual reflection)', 'breakneck brain' and 'The Scenic Route - Live at San Fran '22' are out now on major streaming services.
