Listen To Estère’s 'Mākara Peak' EP
Launched late last week amidst a mini-tsunami of Bandcamp Friday releases, Estère’s standout Mākara Peak EP arrives perfectly timed to heat up summer dance floors. Including lead cut 'BPM' and the irresistible wiggling grooves of recent single 'Oh Well', the Cameroonian / Kiwi songwriter and producer rounds out the EP with two fresh tunes — bass-booming and sassy capitalistic critique 'Conversation With Daddy' (which "started with a chat on the phone between Estère and her father") and loved-up tropical jam 'Melt', the latter largely laid down in Rarotonga earlier this year. Incorporating almost ASMR-like found sounds into the artist's club-bumping, intricately assembled aural palette, Estère's vocal powers absolutely shine throughout Mākara Peak ("named after the statuesque hilltop outside of Estère’s studio window"). Hit play and watch the official video for 'Oh Well' made with support from NZ On Air below...
'Mākara Peak' is out now on major streaming services via Blue Riot Records.
