Lunavela Shares New Album 'Imposter Syndrome' + Video 'Next Of Kin'
Former frontman of Collapsing Cities, Tāmaki Makaurau songwriter Steve Mathieson has unveiled the official debut album from his long-simmering solo project Lunavela. Absolutely stacked with guitar-pop hooks and relatable, close to the bone lyrical observations on everyday life in the super city, Imposter Syndrome includes previously released student radio faves 'Six-out-of-ten Friend', 'Pandering Meandering', 'You know who you are, you know how I feel' and 'People That You Know', rounded out with four fresh ear worms. Leading the record with instrumental 'Screen Addicted Braindead Sociopath', standouts include 'Next Of Kin', an insta-catchy anthem sounding somehow as huge and sad as a Lil Peep classic (sans 808 drums) yet inimitably Mathieson in intent and execution. Take in director Tristan Ogden's fairly concerning suburban visuals for 'Next Of Kin' [content warning: self-harm, suicide], hit play on the album stream below and go give Lunavela a high five this Saturday at The Wine Cellar...
'Imposter Syndrome' is out now on major streaming services.
