Satin Sheets Returns With New Album 'St. Francis II'
An album so eagerly awaited some wag set up a Twitter page counting days since the last one, Aotearoa vaporwave producer Satin Sheets aka Ben Pogson has overcome broken hard drive disasters to finally launch St. Francis II via US imprint 100% Electronica. A follow-up to 2017's St. Francis (initially released by earlier moniker Sprite1999), the new long player is presented as the second half of a sonic diptych, releasing as a highly covetable double record set including both albums (thirty five tracks all up) on ‘Liquid Palm’ and ‘Galaxy Purple’ coloured vinyl LP (out soon, preorders HERE). Heard by this listener during the weekend creating pleasant ambience for a DIY hairdressing session and as vibe-enhancing soundtrack for a Sunday drive to Christchurch airport, St. Francis II feels not unlike a cool splash in the swimming pool of your imagination — sipping on a tropical-themed beverage while floating about on some kind of Jeff Koons-y cartoon dinosaur / lobster inflatable device. 'St. Francis II' is out now on CD, cassette and digital streaming services via 100% Electronica.
