The Beths Announce New Album Release Tour + Share Single 'Silence Is Golden'
Lovers of a great contradictory song title, The Beths' new anthem 'Silence Is Golden' is the rip-snorting first single from their forthcoming third studio album Expert In A Dying Field, announced today along with details of a five date nationwide tour happening in September and October. Repping some refreshingly frenzied noise guitar shredding in the midst of the new track's non-stop power-pop catchiness, Elizabeth Stokes sings "I'd burn the city to the ground to turn it down" as the tune continues its overdriven rampage, until it suddenly doesn't. Longtime collaborators Sports Team (whose Annabel Kean makes a welcome return to UTR today as Acting Editor for the next two weeks, while I'm away in Australia) have come to the party with a beautifully understated yet slyly inventive band performance vid, filmed in a garage and made with support from NZ On Air. Watch below and score tickets while you can to see the globally acclaimed Tāmaki Makaurau foursome of Stokes, Jonathan Pearce, Benjamin Sinclair, and Tristan Deck touring their new record (launching on 16th September) this spring — their shows famously have a habit of selling out fast...
