N. T. Honey Return With Single / Video 'Moon Ritual'
Tāmaki Makaurau's N. T. Honey follow what was low key one of the best local albums of 2021, Accidental Punk, with brand new standalone single 'Moon Ritual'. Released to coincide with tonight's full moon, the jangly and entrancing tune is accompanied by a video created by Karen Reis, starring the band's Anya Henis, Ducklingmonster and Jade Farley (Pumice) making magic (and some highly covetable one-off tees, each member is also a visual artist) in the super city's sunny suburbs. Alluding to "feminine archetypes, environmental disasters and everyday phenomena," N. T. Honey's song was recorded with Stefan Neville (also of Pumice). Henis opened up about the ideas orbiting 'Moon Ritual'...
"The song alludes to a previous summer moon ritual... where we listened to bells, let our minds wander, and travelled to places we had never been before.
Karen (Reis) gave us expert advice on best time of the month to release the single - full moons are the energy-rich climax of the waxing moon, a motif that figures and shifts throughout the video."
'Moon Ritual' is out now on major streaming services via Sunreturn.
