Tess Liautaud Shares Debut Single / Video 'Breezy As'
Recently spotted sharing the stage with Canterbury legends Barry Saunders, Delaney Davidson, Adam Hattaway & The Haunters, and Al Park at Lyttelton's NYEE December knees up, Tess Liautaud unveils today her first official single 'Breezy As'. A guitar strummin' tender "ode to feeling lost but hopeful," the Franco-American, Aotearoa-based folk songwriter enjoys unhurried times on the open road in her suitably sun-soaked video, co-directed with Gina Johns. With a debut album on the horizon (recorded at Sublime Studios in Otago), rumour has it Liautaud will be climbing back in the van sooner rather than later — prep your ears with 'Breezy As'...
"It has a lot of that imprint of how things felt then, days were only getting shorter, feeling rushed by whatever life is meant to be, especially as we got out of lockdown and feeling like things had to be back to the pace they were at before… it was hard to get my mind readjusted, but also realizing there’s no rush…
Sonically it makes me nostalgic of the people and life in this little mountain town, where life can be quite carefree too and where community plays an important aspect.
I wanted to make a song that had that uplifting feeling. A sort of little indie rock/pop anthem for life these days, with a kiwi reference in the title Breezy As" — Tess Liautaud
'Breezy As' is out now via major streaming services.
