Blue Mt Lumber Drops Ode To Burnouts 'Sun Revenger'
You can just about smell the burning rubber and nervous sweat on the latest ripper track from Tāmaki garage-pop creator Blue Mt Lumber aka Matthew McAuley (former Brains and Emily Edrosa band member). Out today, 'Sun Revenger' is the second single from Blue Mt Lumber's forthcoming EP 87 Give Up and follows their 95bFM Top Ten chart monster 'St Lukes Freakout 3pm Tuesday'. Mid-arvo Auckland mall mooching over, 'Sun Revenger' rockets us into the deep South for a long night of paddock-side burnouts and suitably noisy indie-rock guitar, filtered through the fuzzy distortion of a car stereo blasted beyond its means.
Once the rest of the EP is out, McAuley says "87 Give Up will also be followed, God and indoor-gathering-restrictions-willing, by the debut of Blue Mt Lumber as a live act. Not entirely sure what that's going to look like just yet, but I promise you it's going to absolutely rip". Crank the handbrake and bottom out the bass for a three-minute transportation into bogan bliss...
'Sun Revenger' is out now on major streaming services.
