Ōtautahi guitar hero Joe Sampson (T54, Salad Boys) delivers exactly what it says on the tin with new instrumental solo album November 2021. Twelves tracks long, each with expertly coined titles, Sampson's latest offering features riffs, demos and ideas from the second half of this year, compiled and recorded just last month. While his previous solo album When Did Things Become So So-So? was all microKORGs and electronic pop, the new collection is overflowing with lovely guitar jangle, sounding like he travelled back in time to '80s Dunedin — and took some proper recording gear with him.
