Louisa Nicklin Shares Xmas Single 'Unholy Night' + Video
By gosh, she's done it again — Auckland folk songwriter Louisa Nicklin shares a new gorgeous but bloody heartbreaking folk track, singing about the sads and lonelies that often rear their heads at Christmas time. Nicklin wrote and recorded 'Unholy Night' over lockdown, working distantly and digitally with bandmates Eamon Edmundson-Wells and Mason Fairey, before Peter Ruddell came aboard for mixing and Emily Wheatcroft-Snape for mastering. Between the cherub-heavy cover art from Joe Locke and the epic, melancholy pine-hacking clip Nicklin co-created with Charlie Ratahi McFarland, 'Unholy Night' delivers the full spectrum of Christmas emotions direct to your eyes and ears — with all Bandcamp proceeds from the release going to Auckland City Mission. Once you've wrapped yourself up in seasonal dread, mosey on over here to read up on the upcoming Dimmer tour, featuring Nicklin in the live band line-up...
'Unholy Night' is out now via major streaming services.
