Karl Steven Shares Single / Video 'Acoma (Phase I)'

Pārāwai-based composer, producer and all round impressive person Karl Steven has made my morning with a new single from his upcoming debut solo collection All Of Human Emotion On Microfiche. The third drop ahead of the album's February release, 'Acoma (Phase I)' is a soothing digital salve after the delicious, crunchy chaos of singles 'Tāmaki 5000' and 'Freedom Bells'. Once he'd laid down the song's opening synth chord, Steven says "the rest of the song, the lyrics, and even the basic concept for the video just unfolded from it pretty much immediately", even suggesting 'Acoma (Phase I)' stepped into our world from another dimension. Reflecting the world-melding story of the song, visual collaborators Marcel Bellvé and Jamie-Lee Smith render Steven in an undulating pixelverse for the 'Acoma (Phase I)' video.
