Violet Hirst Shares Single 'Lay With Me In Barns' + Short Film
Last in our ears sharing her live album Songs From The Futuna Chapel and touring the North Island with fellow Wellingtonians Michael Llewellyn & The Darlings, Violet Hirst has unveiled haunting new single 'Lay With Me In Barns' from her forthcoming debut EP Kindhearted. Weaving together quietly powerful folk guitar and hopelessly romantic lyricism, 'Lay With Me In Barns' lays bare Hirst's earnest songwriting, influenced by her penchant for nostalgia and personal instincts. The track lands with a full blown, black and white short film, produced by Hirst and directed by Mark Whittet. Stuck somewhere between their small town farm communities and tradition-defying, creative dreams, a meeting of young singles expands the love story of 'Lay With Me In Barns', taking us on a whirlwind tale of a new relationship. Enjoy the video below, and watch this space for the full EP...
Violet Hurst's debut EP 'Kindhearted' is out December 3rd.
