i.e. crazy Shares New Single 'Weird Weather'
A version of i.e. crazy's 'Weird Weather' was first unveiled in 2018 as part of artist Biljana Popovic's show Synthetic Baby, for which the Tāmaki-based songwriter and producer responded to the provocation "The car is not an object to be fetishised, but a mediated lens, a transformative and existential machine with which humans have a reciprocal relationship".
Out now on the back of their jarring collage video for 'Country Justice', 'Weird Weather' storms in with perfect meteorological timing, as half of New Zealand is battered by hail and gales. A song "underscored by knowledge of the destruction wreaked by our desire for smooth, uninterrupted travel", i.e. crazy plays with samples, sound effects and tantalisingly drawn out beats. Best described by i.e. crazy aka Frances Libeau, the track is all at once "cyborg erotica, car advert, & lament for a dying planet". Have a sexy, post-human time with 'Weird Weather'...
