Delaney Davidson Performs 'Disassociate From Myself' - UTR Trash Recital Episode 8

We're stoked to share the eighth episode of our new web series created in collaboration with the talented gang at Sports Team: UTR Trash Recital!

For each episode of Trash Recital we've invited some of our favourite Aotearoa artists into the UTR studios to perform one of their signature songs, re-created using everyday items selected from a treasure trove of literal trash, collected by Sports Team from Tāmaki Makaurau's finest op shops / second hand stores. Trash Recital not only provides a launchpad for stunning reimaginings of recent classic tunes, but also the perfect opportunity for a chinwag with our local musical heroes.

This week's guest is none other than Lyttelton icon Delaney Davidson, whose award-winning oeuvre includes collaborations with seemingly every notable Aotearoa artist, along with his own spellbinding and ever-expanding catalogue of solo recordings. Currently touring the nation with Troy Kingi in celebration of new album Black Sea Golden Ladder (co-written by Davidson), the always inventive songwriter treated us to brand new song 'Disassociate From Myself', originally written with The Phoenix Foundation's Samuel Flynn Scott. Witness the mysterious multi-instrumentalist using the infamous UTR Trash Pile™ to whip up a musical masterpiece before your very eyes and ears...
