Memory Foam Unleash 'Don't Bring Me Down' + Announce Debut Album 'Steel Magnolias'
Last spotted whipping party-goers into a frenzy while offering them tinned cat food, Tāmaki Makaurau sci-fi punx Memory Foam have dropped a monster of a lead single to their excellently titled forthcoming debut album Steel Magnolias, produced by the band with Michael Logie (Mint Chicks). An avalanche of fuzz-heavy psych guitars, UFO-synths, frantic drums and singer Yuko Miyoshi's urgent yells, 'Don't Bring Me Down' is "a little song about love, hardship and anti-capitalism" — squashing listeners flat in the best way possible. Converting your stink annoying Monday morning into an ultra-cool start to the week in exactly three minutes and eleven seconds, prep your ears for more great stuff to come with 'Don't Bring Me Down'...
'Steel Magnolias' is set to launch in 2022. Memory Foam are playing Cassette Nine on 27th August with Pocket Money and at Hamilton's Never Project Space on 25th September.
