Watch i.e. crazy's New Video For 'Country Justice'
From a song inspired by the Hataitai Tunnel's dark gaping mouth, multidisciplinary visual artist Holly Mia presents her video response to i.e. crazy aka Frances Libeau's intense 2019 single 'Country Justice'. To be included as part of their forthcoming 2022 LP, 'Country Justice' opens with a spine-chilling Country Calendar sample, layering fuzzy radio and parliamentary soundbites over a bed of horror instrumentation, to which Mia has collaged Tux Wonder Dogs, unidentifiable flesh, and cascading cow shit. The video continues boldly with the bleakest of bleak New Zealand country living, delivered with a content warning for "agricultural violence", as well as snippets from Miss Wool 1951 and ancient dairy product TV ads dotted with hard-to-watch kauri logging footage. Not for the faint of heart, you might want to put your lunch aside for Holly Mia's "collage of remediated colonial imagery"...
CW (visual): Agricultural violence
CW (audio): Murder, sexual violence, child abuse
