Tāmaki Makaurau's Clap Clap Riot are back in the drivers seat with their first new release in four years ‘It’s Alright’, a fizzy pop-punk anthem setting the scene for their forthcoming nationwide tour. Sounding almost Ramones-y before zooming off down their own catchy trail, there's zero fat on the bone as Clap Clap Riot peel off hook after hook while reflecting lyrically on “our ability to overthink things”. Recorded live at the Lab Studios with producer Tom Healy (Tiny Ruins), ‘It’s Alright’ is the first taste of an entire new album on the way from CCR, due out in the first half of 2022.
