Listen To Womb's New EP 'Holding A Flame'
Knowing full well that Te Whanganui-a-Tara trio Womb have the power to knock the wind right out of me, I still wasn't prepared for the emotional avalanche that is today's new EP Holding A Flame. It begins with 'Intro', 37 seconds of strings and nothing short of epic, then rolls into three stunning new songs "written as a form of transmutation; turning discordant feelings into a unified sound as a means of getting through/past various states of being". These are the first tracks they've released since signing to legendary label Flying Nun, who've recently relocated their HQ to Pōneke's Newtown, and it arrives a week before siblings Charlotte Forrester, Haz Forrester, and Georgette Brown embark on a four date EP launch tour. Holding A Flame and its supporting tour arrive as we shift into Cancer season, which I'm told is a time for growth and nourishment — and what better way to grow and fill your body with nourishing tunes than with one of Womb's incomparable live performances...
