Aldous Harding Returns With Single / Video 'Old Peel'
With only one song (a cover of Deerhunter) released since Aldous Harding wowed us all with her Taite Music Prize nominated 2019 album Designer, the globally revered Lyttelton songwriter has returned with 'Old Peel'. Already described by some wags as "a bop," there's of course much more to this musical onion than playful and angular hooks that wouldn't be out of place in a Pere Ubu tune — brought to life by an artfully composed band performance video co-directed by the artist and regular collaborator Martin Sagadin (who takes centre stage in the clip). There's no word yet on an upcoming album, but Harding has announced today a huge tour of the UK, EU and the US. Experience 'Old Peel' here...
'Old Peel' is out now via 4AD / Flying Nun — a limited edition 7" including an acoustic B-side version of the song will be released on 9th July.
