Tipping the hat to horror movie maestro John Carpenter's spine tingling score to Halloween and Abel Ferrara's deranged classic Driller Killer, Pōneke's Planet Of The Dead return with a blood-curdling first cut from their forthcoming second studio album Pilgrims. Spinning a hellish scenario of small town terror over unrelentingly bone-crunching riffage, Planet Of The Dead's doomy 'Escape From Smith's Grove' is served up with appropriated imagery of director / actor Ferrara losing his mind in the gritty streets of 1979 NYC. Produced by James Goldsmith at The Surgery, Planet Of The Dead's new record drops digitally, on CD and limited edition 12" vinyl LP on 23rd July, with preorders being available now via their Bandcamp page.
