Luke Buda + Dream Chambers Auckland Show Announced
Pōneke icon Luke Buda throws off the songwriting shackles of The Phoenix Foundation with today's announcement of an exceedingly rare solo performance sans band, playing a double headline show at Tāmaki's The Wine Cellar this July with Dream Chambers, the ethereal electronic project of Jess Chambers. Beloved throughout Aotearoa and beyond for his multiple Silver Scroll nominated work with TPF, high profile soundtracks with Moniker and TPF on Taika Waititi's Hunt for the Wilderpeople and Boy (to name but two), and as a member of cosmic guitar noise tunesmiths Teeth, the indefatigable artist is gearing up to regale punters with songs from throughout his back catalogue. He's promising "old faves from his previous solo albums, a Moniker soundtrack classic or two and, of course, some Phoenix Foundation songs. If you’re lucky he might even cover some Roxette."
Now based in Nashville, Tennessee and exploring the world of modular synthesis following a highly successful songwriting career (which netted her the 2009 APRA Best Country Music Song award), Jess Chambers has three albums under her belt as Dream Chambers so far, co-founded Hyasynth House (an electronic music collective for femme and non-binary creatives), and is currently back in Aotearoa for a visit. We strongly suggest you grab tickets for this special one-off event while you can, details below...

Press release:
Luke Buda (Pōneke) and Dream Chambers (Nashville) have announced a one off gig at the Wine Cellar in Auckland on July 8th.
Luke Buda is coming out of solo retirement.
Having spent the last 12 years making albums and touring with The Phoenix Foundation, composing Taika Waititi movie soundtracks with Moniker, and channelling cosmic guitar noise with Teeth, the multiple Silver Scroll, Taite and NZMA finalist is heading to Auckland to perform some new solo music.
He’ll also play old faves from his previous solo albums, a Moniker soundtrack classic or two and, of course, some Phoenix Foundation songs. If you’re lucky he might even cover some Roxette.
Dream Chambers is the name for APRA award-winning singer-songwriter Jess Chambers' ethereal electronic music.
Known in New Zealand for her delicately orchestrated folk albums and her work with The Woolshed Sessions, Rhian Sheehan, and The Upbeats, Jess relocated to Nashville, Tennessee in 2012 where she encountered a vibrant and welcoming underground electronic music scene and began a transformative journey into the world of music technology.
In the last 9 years, she has performed as Dream Chambers extensively in the US, co-founded Hyasynth House an electronic music collective for femme and non-binary creatives and, released three albums ranging from electronic-pop experimentalism through to drone and vocal soundscapes. Her sound, created using a mass of modular synthesizers, sequencers, and vocal processors, counterpoints heavy sub-bass with crystalline granular vocal samples and, shimmering arpeggios.
