Pōneke dream-soul gurus Arjuna Oakes and Serebii are toasting the launch of their smooth-grooving collaborative single 'Reset' with a sure to be magical, four stop tour of Te Ika ā Māui this coming April. Singer and multi-instrumentalist Oakes is certainly on a roll, sweeping up accolades for the sumptuous jazz-inflected moods of his 2020 EP Recovery, Pt. 1 and working with globally acclaimed composer John Psathas on last year's collection of lockdown recordings It's Already Tomorrow, which also featured tunes by such luminaries as Purple Pilgrims and Grayson Gilmour. Pōneke-based Jazz/Soul maestros Arjuna Oakes and Serebii are hitting the road this April, taking their intoxicating brand of dream soul around Te Ika-a-Māui (the North Island).
Named for the debut single from their upcoming collaborative EP, the RESET TOUR will see the genre-bending duo play dates in Wellington, Palmerston North, Auckland and Leigh. With local support in each centre (bar Leigh), these shows will be bursting at the seams with Aotearoa's finest emerging musical talent.
With the soulful and sophisticated stylings of Serebii easing us into proceedings, audiences will be treated to never-before heard tracks from the upcoming EP - as well as a selection of waiata from Arjuna's impressive catalogue of recent releases. Expect to be whisked away by these masters of smooth groove, as they weave their magic around the motu.
