Marlowe Single Launch Show w/ Echo Children, Looking For Alaska, Mikey Havoc Announced
Citing influence from the likes of Bruce Springsteen and The National, Tāmaki new kid on the block Marlowe is launching his debut single 'Nostalgic' with a hiss and a roar this May at Karangahape Road's Thirsty Dog. Despite the song title, Marlowe is bringing a fresh line-up of Auckland gems and friends along to the gig to make the occasion extra special. Pop-rock trio Echo Children will share their lush guitar tunes on the night, as will charming two-piece Looking For Alaska with their latest album Light And Shadow. To make it a real party, Mikey Havoc is on the bill too, but I can't tell you if it'll be 'DJ Mikey Havoc' or 'Rock'n'roll Mikey Havoc'. You'll just have to go along and find out...

MARLOWE
Marlowe is a songwriter and musician from Tāmaki Makaurau. Drawing on pop sensibilities, Marlowe creates tender melodic hooks with layered vocals and an acoustic guitar.
There’s a scratchy lived in texture to Marlowe’s alt indie songs. They tell stories of love, loss, isolation and the passage of time. You can hear the influences of Bruce Springsteen, Smokey Robinson, Chris Wollard, and The National in his sound.
Marlowe is currently working on his new album, to be released later this year.
NOSTALGIC
Nostalgic is a 90’s style pop tune with some catchy sing along hooks, fun lyrics, and Weezer style guitar leads. Produced and mixed by Micah Livesay, Nostalgic was mixed down to a 4-track to give it that authentic yesteryear tape hiss sound.
