Violet French Drops Spooky Single / Video 'Pop Pop Pop'
Ōtautahi tunesmith Violet French of Kool Aid fame wishes us all a "happy humpday" with the release of her spine-tingling third solo single 'Pop Pop Pop'. Launched alongside a vibey DIY clip directed by Luke Towart of The Horrible (who also plays organ on the track) depicting what I presume to be everyday life in Canterbury’s suburbs — eg. standing outside staring into your flat, afternoons spent with terrifying dolls, phone served on a plate, reality blurring out — French's new tune is a haunting fuzzy ditty with a somehow upbeat heart. Do as the artist says and "get paranormal" when French performs alongside Ben Woods this March at Lyttelton's The Loons, and don't miss her own headline performance with The Horrible at Isaac Theatre Royal on 20th March...
