Watch Shepherds Reign's Video For 'Aiga'
South Auckland metal crew Shepherds Reign have let loose their beefy new track 'Aiga' with a ferocious, windswept video created with support from NZ On Air. In 'Aiga' ('Family' in Samoan), Filiva'a James (Ngāti Hāmoa) screams at the top of his lungs the value of our ancestors, and that no matter what heights you reach "A o le aiga e maua ai, le loto mālie!" (But only with your family will you ever find true happiness). As the band stands their ground in waves of sand and battles ocean gusts, there are moments of calm, with figures in traditional Samoan dress flickering into frame. In the short time since 'Aiga' was released, the video has already racked up more than 15,000 views, and I wouldn't be surprised if it works its way up to streams in the millions like their last single 'Le Manu'. Although Shepherds Reign has had to postpone show after show this year, they recently played a massive Aotearoa tour with Devilskin, and will join them again for seven Australian shows in February next year (touch wood). Listen to their latest drop below, and add it to your workout playlist to be just like Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson...
