Listen To The Phoenix Foundation's 'Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas'
Aotearoa's very own The Phoenix Foundation feature on Lost Christmas: A Festive Memphis Industries Selection Box — a collection of reimagined Yuletide faves by such international heavy hitters as Field Music and The Go! Team. Sounding not unlike six robotic Santa Clauses congregating together for a sentimental singalong, TPF's vocoder-drenched 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas' originally appeared in a much more low-key fashion on a collection of Christmas-themed krautrock crackers from the group's nom-de-plume Moniker, who are credited as creating the soundtrack for Taika Waititi's cinematic hit Hunt For The Wilderpeople. Now gifted to the world in a far more accessible form, the futuristic rendition caps off a significant year for Lukasz Buda, Samuel Flynn Scott and the gang, who launched TPF's first album in five years Friend Ship in October and have snazzy new stocking-filler Merino socks designed by Karlya Smith available over on their Bandcamp page...
'Lost Christmas: A Festive Memphis Industries Selection Box' is out now digitally and on limited edition green vinyl via Memphis Industries.
