Guardian Singles Announce National Tour + Share Video For 'Midnight Swim'

Summer's finally arrived, which means it's well past time for Tāmaki Makaurau all-stars Guardian Singles to rally the troops for a whirlwind run of gigs across Aotearoa. With their anthem-packed debut album launched back in January before 2020's madness took hold, Guardian Singles' live shows were once solely an annual seasonal tradition. We can now party with them all year round, as core member Fiona Campbell (Vivian Girls, Coolies) is based back in Auckland, alongside uber-talented band buds Thom Burton (SoccerPractise, Moppy), Yolanda Fagan (Na Noise, Echo Ohs) and Durham Fenwick (Green Grove).

If that's somehow not enough excitement to rev up your Monday morn, Guardian Singles have lifted the veil on a brand spanking clip for 'Midnight Swim' from their self-titled debut record, using footage filmed at Whammy Bar during their livestream performance for Memphis garage punk extravaganza GonerFest (run by Goner Records) — who expanded into the online realm broadcasting stages across the globe due to Covid in late September. They tore it up on the New Zealand stage alongside local guitar wranglers Blood Bags, Ounce, Na Noise and Dick Move, as highlighted in episode five of Goner TV.
