Purple Pilgrims, Grayson Gilmour + More Feat. On 'It's Already Tomorrow' Compilation
Despite drawing from the here, now, and already been, It's Already Tomorrow takes its time across eight spacy tracks to build new worlds and extra-terrestrial soundscapes. Born from Creative New Zealand’s COVID-19 Arts Continuity Grant and spearheaded by John Psathas and Jack Hooker, the compilation draws from Aotearoa talents dotted across the globe from Greece to Serbia to Pōneke. Each new song is a collaboration between an artist living here, including Indi (Doprah), Grayson Gilmour and Purple Pilgrims, and songwriters on the other side of the world. There are moments of electronic beats in 'Lake Opal' from Wellington's Name UL, gentle folk in Jack Hooker's 'Alimos', and neo-soul in 'Unlearn' by Arjuna Oakes. As part of the project, producers Psathas and Hooker have also published eight intimate video interviews with contributors, where they delve into their approach to
It's Already Tomorrow and their individual 2020 experiences. The album is available to stream online, but there's also a gorgeous and very limited LP release on delightful lime green vinyl. It's Already Tomorrow is a vital and thorough example of music-making for musicians more isolated than ever...
'It's Already Tomorrow' is out now digitally and on limited edition green vinyl, pressed by Holiday Records.
