Unrestricted Live Shows Return To NZ's Venues Outside Of Auckland
In an announcement at 1pm today, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern declared we are in "a strong position to make our next move down our alert level settings." Auckland will move to Alert Level 2 at 11.59pm on Wednesday 23rd September, social gatherings of up to 100 people will be permitted from that time and physical distancing in venues is required (1 metre) to be in place for another 14 days (one transmission cycle). The rest of New Zealand will move to Alert Level 1 from 11.59pm tonight — see here for updated info.
This means unrestricted live events can once again take place outside of Tāmaki Makaurau's super city boundaries from tomorrow onwards! Aucklanders can still support our live scene in a more restricted fashion but sadly will have to wait a bit longer before things get completely back to normal. We encourage everyone to mask up, stay sensibly safe and support your community to help get gigs thriving again pronto.
