Put Your Ear To The Underground Mini-Festival Announced

Channeling the revolutionary spirit of "80 / 90s underground Squat / Free Party / Artist Culture" for our post-lockdown era, Tāmaki Makaurau's Put Your Ear To The Underground mini-festival is set to deliver a full spectrum of sights and sensations from Karangahape Rd's counter-cultural and outsider communities this coming September. Taking over Whammy Bar and Backroom, the festival's main room / rave zone will get punters pumped with electronic dance artists DJ Gutta, Scarlett, DJ 2FUK2, jungle OG 48 Sonic and more,  while Backroom / punk cabaret zone will include the future-shocked sounds of Go Nuclear alongside Lesbian Death Slutz From Hell, a presentation by author Molly Macindoe (Out of Order) and more. Proudly "guided by the principles of equality, inclusiveness and non-for-profit mentality learnt from 80 / 90s free rave / squat culture in Europe," the evening will also include Burlesque, Counter Culture Cinema, Vegan Treats by Apocalyptic Food and more – jack to the sound of the underground via the details below...

Put Your Ear To The Underground is a mini-festival paying homage to 80/90s underground Squat/Free Party/Artist Culture across two rooms in everyone’s favourite Karangahape Rd bunker Whammy Bar. Inspired by artist collectives like Mutoid Waste Company, Spiral Tribe, MononoM, Robodock, Tacheles and Lost Vagueness, the evening will transport attendees to a psychedelic dreamland crafted in the central city’s oasis of outsiders and oddbods, guided by the principles of equality, inclusiveness and non-for-profit mentality learnt from 80/90s free rave/squat culture in Europe.

We have an amazing line-up of different kind of artists from our own underground culture.

Expect a night of hard sounds from different genres of electronic music in Whammys main room by your favorite Underground/Whammy Djs. Punk Dj, Bands, Burlesque, Counter Culture Cinema,Vegan Treats and a Presentation by the author of the book Out of Order, Molly Macindoe who was there at the time.

All supported with Lights,Visuals,Audio and Design from New Zealand's best techs. This is a Non-For-Profit event, all ticketing money will be used to make Whammy look special and for Whammy. All DJs, Artists, Performers, Writers and Cooks will do this for free.
