The Beths Share New Album 'Jump Rope Gazers'
To cap off what will go down in the history books as 'The Beths Week', the team of Elizabeth Stokes, Jonathan Pearce, Ben Sinclair and Tristan Deck today reveal their second studio album Jump Rope Gazers to fans across the world. Soaring at stratospheric heights established by their already classic 2018 debut album Future Me Hates Me, the Tāmaki Makaurau four piece let rip from the get-go with the double single combo of their winkingly titled 'I'm Not Getting Excited' and the Thin Lizzy-esque guitar pyrotechnics of 'Dying To Believe'. Then it's a cavalcade of new songs and spoiler alert: they're catchy as heck. The heart-melting melodies of the title track, recent single 'Out Of Sight' and closer 'Just Shy Of Sure' may prompt awkward "that's just sand in my eye" moments, while Stokes' emotive and playfully inventive lyrics are understatedly masterful throughout – even tackling mythical power-pop territory on the zippy 'Mars, the God of War'.
You can give The Beths an internet high five in celebration of Jump Rope Gazers by tuning in to their final ever Live From House livestream, broadcasting at 10am today NZST via the YouTube embed at the bottom of this page – featuring full band, "live chat" and the eagerly anticipated return of Snack Cam. Aotearoa gig-goers will also have the chance to catch The Beths touring their new record in August, September and November, whilst lucky Auckland ticket holders will be seeing them at their sold-out Powerstation show this Saturday.
