Pōneke songwriter Vera Ellen (Girl Friday) sounds on the brink of tears on new EP Songs No​-​one Should Hear. The three lo-fi, acoustic tracks are like the aftermath of a hopeless romantic disillusioned by the reality of a modern relationship. Opener 'The Only1 I Wanted' is a desperate apology, 'Stuck W Me' is spitting anger and self-hate, culminating in choked-up reflective track 'I Gotta Admit', confessing broken dreams of a wholesome future together. All proceeds from EP sales will be donated to The Okra Project, a collective providing culturally appropriate and nutritional meals to Black Trans people in need.
