Guardian Singles Announce North Island Tour + Share Single 'Being Alone'
Now that live shows are finally back with a vengeance, Tāmaki Makaurau's Guardian Singles are bringing the mid-winter rager to a venue near you – squeezing in the van for an six stop North Island tour this July. Fronted by Thom Burton (SoccerPractise, M0ppy) and boasting an all-star lineup that has included members of Coolies, Green Grove, Civil Union, Echo Ohs, Peach Milk and more, the band's current ranks feature new recruit Yolanda Fagan alongside Guardian Singles veterans Fiona Campbell and Durham Fenwick. With a winning self-titled debut album safely tucked under their collective belt and a well-deserved rep of bringing the party every time they hit the stage (and afterwards), you'll be wanting to head along to these must-attend gigs...

Thom Burton opened up about second single from the record 'Being Alone', “The song is a crudely drawn cartoon about addiction to excitement. Kind of like when the Coyote runs out onto thin air and only falls when he realises where he is.”

Press release:
Fresh out of lock down Guardian Singles announce second single “Being Alone” from the band's debut record released in January 2020. A full NZ tour had been booked unbeknownst to them at the time during Level 4 lock in April to support the album so they are excited to announce these fresh dates as well as a new band member! With bass player Perry Mahoney (Civil Union, Crash Material) residing in Melbourne and getting no closer to this Anzac bubble, Yolanda Fagan (Echo Ohs, Na Noise, Bozo) has stepped in to bless the band and join Thom Burton (Wilberforces, SoccerPractise), Fiona Campbell (Vivian Girls, Chain and The Gang, The Coolies) and Durham Fenwick (Green Grove, New Gum Sarn, Scuba Diva).
The album was recorded in the depths of Auckland’s Whammy Bar and mastered by Tom Healy, with post-punk influenced by the likes of 1980’s bands Wipers, The Cure, Pylon and The Sound.
