The Beths Announce NZ Album Release Show + Share Single 'Out Of Sight'
As the launch of their second album Jump Rope Gazers looms ever closer and gigs in Aotearoa have finally returned, The Beths have sprung back into action. They've revealed their very first post-lockdown headline event will be a record release party at Tāmaki Makaurau's Powerstation, happening on Saturday 11th July, and shared new single / video combo 'Out Of Sight'. Previewed yesterday on their Live From 'House' 3 streaming extravaganza [bring back 'snack-cam' I say], 'Out Of Sight' is a moving reflection on the inevitable fragility of long distance relationships. Paired with gorgeous Super 8 visuals of Elizabeth Stokes, Jonathan Pearce, Ben Sinclair and Tristan Deck getting back in touch with nature's splendour, the song's clip was directed and edited by Ezra Simons (Earth Tongue) and created with support from NZ On Air. Experience the video below and grab tickets for The Beths' album release party while you can...
"The band playing on ‘Out Of Sight’ is more fragile than we usually allow ourselves to be. We are trying to listen more deeply and be more open ended, it was confronting to do and sometimes even frustrating. But it came out great, Ben’s bass playing especially is beautifully melodic and gives the song a unique texture." - Liz StokesThe Beths
Saturday 11th July - The Powerstation, Auckland (R18)
Tickets available HERE via UTR
'Jump Rope Gazers' releases on Friday 10th July via Carpark Records.
