New Zealand's Venues To Host Public Events Without Limitations
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has revealed venues throughout Aotearoa will no longer have capacity capped at 100 attendees, with today's announcement we'll be moving to Level 1 alert status and zero cases of Covid-19 now active. A significant easing of Level 2's tight operating restrictions, under Level 1 Aotearoa's venues can finally once again host public events without limitations. Taking effect from midnight tonight, this long-awaited move marks the end for now of stringent conditions imposed upon our live entertainment industry due to Covid-19, with NZ's independent music spaces needing to raise funds to stay afloat until they could safely fully re-open once more. Here's hoping it heralds an exciting wave of show announcements to come – get out there and support local music!
